VäljaQtse · week 8

Eesti otsib superhommikusööki — Estonia’s Super Breakfast Search

Porridge or a fried egg is just as welcome as a stack of pancakes. Take a photo, add it as a recipe and bring it to the stage.

It’s okay that you’re not a professional food photographer. A phone takes a wonderful photo, and sometimes a good idea and real substance matter more than perfectly polished wrapping.

How to take part

Three steps to the stage

Your recipe lives on in your FunTastyQ Fit recipe collection — even after the final.

  1. Hands sprinkling blueberries on porridge

    Cook and take a photo

Make one tasty breakfast, set it nicely on the table and take a photo. Simple is perfectly fine — porridge, a fried egg or a sandwich. What’s the X factor that brings the win home? That’s for you to figure out.

  2. Taking a photo of breakfast with a phone

    Step on stage

Choose the recipes from your collection that you want to enter, and submit. You can submit one or several entries — even every morning. The more breakfast photos, the better your chance of winning.

  3. Friends looking at a breakfast photo on a phoneSample

    Audience and jury

If an entry makes people want a taste, they can tap the plate: “Me too, one plate”. Whoever collects the most plates becomes the People’s favourite. The jury picks the winner on 5 October.

Three simple tips for a better food photo

  • Find daylightShoot near a window and turn the flash off. Soft side light makes food look delicious. Wipe your phone’s camera lens clean before you shoot.
  • Pick the right angleBowls and sandwiches look best straight from above, taller dishes (a pancake stack, a glass of smoothie) from about a 45° angle. Don’t be shy about getting closer — the plate can fill the whole frame.
  • Make room on stageClear stray things off the table and keep just one or two details that set the mood: a spoon, a cup or a napkin. Freshly sprinkled berries or greens add colour.

Rules

Simple is perfectly fine

  • Each entry is a breakfast recipe with a photo and a short description. You can submit several entries — even every morning.
  • The recipe is a real recipe in the FunTastyQ Fit recipe collection: ingredients and instructions.
  • The photo is taken by you and suitable for the public. Someone else’s or copied photos are not allowed.
  • When you submit, we check within seconds that the photo shows food. Your entry then appears in the gallery right away as “First name L.”. Your first entry of the week gives you a VäljaQtse draw ticket right away.
  • Logged-in users can give each entry one “Me too, one plate” tap, but not their own. Tapped recipes are collected in “My plates”.
  • Entries marked EXAMPLE are not part of the contest, but if you like one, you can still give it a plate.

The jury picks the real winners

Presentation and idea count, not complexity. The jury won’t recreate and taste every breakfast, but reserves the right to do so. Prizes for the winners are provided by FitQ and Stebby.

FitQStebby

People’s favourite

Logged-in users can give each entry one “Me too, one plate” tap — it means “I’d like to try this”, not a score. The entry with the most plates at 23:59 on 4 October wins the title.

Estravel

VäljaQtse draw ticket

Your first entry of the week gives you a ticket right away in the draw for a €1000 Estravel gift card. Every completed week = 1 ticket, however many entries you submit.

FAQ

Quick answers

Didn’t find an answer? Write to customer support — real people reply.

My photos aren’t very pretty — is it still worth entering?

Absolutely! None of us are food photographers. A phone photo from the kitchen table is completely enough — the public and the jury look at the idea and presentation, not a photo studio.

Is a simple breakfast OK?

Yes! Porridge, a fried egg or a proper sandwich — what matters is that it’s yours and the photo is taken by you.

How many breakfasts can I submit?

As many as you like — even every morning. Each entry is a separate contest entry and collects its own plates. The more breakfast photos, the better your chance of winning. You get one VäljaQtse draw ticket per week.

What are the entries marked EXAMPLE?

Entries marked EXAMPLE are not part of the contest, but if you like one, you can still give it a plate. They are breakfasts from the FunTastyQ recipe collection.

I don’t have any recipes yet. How do I start?

Tap “Submit your breakfast” and choose “Create a new recipe”. Once it’s saved, you can continue with your entry.

What does “Me too, one plate” mean?

It’s a sign that says “I’d like to try this”, not a score. You can give each entry one tap and the recipe is saved in “My plates”.

What is shown publicly about my entry?

The recipe, the photo and your name as “First name L.”. After a quick photo check the entry appears in the gallery right away.
